Artist's Conception
First of all, let's be clear that I am not an artist. But what do you do when you have a lot of ideas, but lack both workshop, tools and skills to carry them out? Not to mention money. I'm always planning a lot of modifications I'd like to do to the GT500. So I tried to mock up some of them in a drawing.
I love working with watercolours and I know a little on the technique, but there's still a lot to develop. I think the next thing for me to work with is layering. That should make the chrome and other shiny stuff come out better.
For this rendition I traced the base drawing to a piece of paper directly on the laptop screen using a softish pencil and a light hand. I taped that drawing to the light table and added my planned modifications on another piece on top of that. Lastly i fixed the watercolour paper over both the other layers and started colouring it in. I do one colour at a time and one area at a time and make sure not to start a new one before the one directly next to it is completely dry.

Bulgiers Bike Catalogue Scans
This has been one of my favourite places on the net for a long time. Bulgier has the veritable mother lode of vintage bicycle catalogue scans. And much more. Here's a small selection.

BMW R65 GS a là Hoth
I think this one looks like something that could have taken part in the war of Hoth. Complete with xenon head lights and all.
The beauty of decay is so intrieguing and it almost make me want to grow moss and algae on my bike.

Visit at Wrenchmonkees
I am privileged to live in the same city as Wrenchmonkees. So yesterday a new friend and I went for a ride in the sun and a visit at one of the worlds finest custom motorbike shops. Everybody were busy doing office work, but still took the time to make a cup of coffee and have a quick chat.
We snooped around and had a good time kicking tyres and admiring the very impressive craftmanship. Unsurprisingly the machines were so much more interesting and beautiful in real life. What makes this outfit really stand out is the great taste that goes along with the good craftmanship and attention to detail.
It was very fun to recognize the feeling of being totally star struck. Who knew there was such a thing as superstar motorcycle mechanics?
When we finally got the suzuki started we took a detour around the airport. And apart from Henrik running out of gas and having to pillion to a tank and me blowing one of the new exhaust gaskets, the trip home went hasslefree.
You can follow the Wrenchmonkees' work on their blog.
